Playground Disasters

On Wednesday lunch time Charlotte, Stella and Ella were playing on the mighty mega playground. “Why don’t we play on the blue and orange bars,” said Charlotte. Stella was first to the bars and started swinging but then she felt a shaking and she fell off and said, “That was strong!” After they had gone on the bars, they decided to go on the flying fox. Stella had a go and went across once then Charlotte had a go and made it across to only half way and fell off. They all decided to go tell the teacher because they had fallen off twice now. When they told the teacher, she said, “You’re just imagining.” Charlotte, Stella and Ella decided to go back to the playground. Next they went to the sliding poles. When they got to the top of the poles they decided to make a blockage- Ella at the bottom, Charlotte in the middle and Stella at the top. Just then they felt a shake and they heard a loud noise. Ella said,” Yeah, the ice cream truck is here! Wait a minute, it’s getting louder” Then things started falling. The alarm went off and poles started wobbling. Everything was falling over and then they were flung off and landed on the ground. The kick board fell on them. (Describe this) “Ah, my foot is broken,” Charlotte said. “No, that’s my leg, silly.” When they looked up a teacher was staring at them. By Charlotte

One beautiful day at school Lili, Shuun and I were playing on the awesome senior playground. “Let’s go and play on the climbing wall,” said Lili. Lili, Shuun and I were racing up and down the climbing wall. When racing up and down, Shuun won, then Lili and I had a race and I lost. “Let’s go play on the spider web,” shouted Shuun. Shuun, Lili and I were having a challenge who could swing the highest and I won. And Shuun lost. “Let’s go and play on the flying fox,” screamed Haylie. So all of us were going across together. Then we saw a huge tornado coming towards us. We heard a huge howling noise. Lili saw the massive wind blowing rubbish everywhere. Then Shuun heard a whistling noise as the tornado was getting closer and there was a lot of screaming. The tornado got closer, the massive metal flying fox fell and we were all screaming and crying. Then the tornado hit the flying fox which fell on top of us. We were lying dazed, crushed by the flying fox with broken limbs sticking out of the debris. With cautious movements we joined hands for comfort while we waited to be rescued. By Haylie

In the weekend Nico and Jonny went to school at midnight on a spooky Halloween night. Luckily there was a full moon that shone down on the playground. “Hey, let’s go on the pole slide,” said Nico. We went to race down the pole. After awhile they got bored. They ran excitedly to the chain bridge where they swung off the bridge, then their hands got numb. “Nico, let’s go on the pole slide,” said Jonny. Nico went down first. Just then a spider came. I was frightened. Then the spider rushed towards Nico. He got paralysed. “Help, I’m paralysed,” mumbled Nico. I hurried over but there was nothing I could do. Suddenly Nico turned in to a wolf! He had wide eyes and a wet nose. I started screaming and the wolf kept on howling. Suddenly I started screaming with laughter. One I stopped I coughed and a lot of dust came. My bones tingled, his fur got spiky then he exploded back into the real Nico. By Jonny

One hot day at school at lunch time, Josh, Jake, Brooklyn and I were playing on the awesome senior playground. “Let’s go on the monkey bars,” said Josh. Whenever I go on the monkey bars I make monkey noises and the other boys laughed at me. They decided to copy me making monkey noises too. “Let’s play on the climbing wall,” I ssaid. As we were climbing we were racing and timing each other. Jake hurt his arm and I helped him. After that Jake bet me up the climbing wall. I said, “Great job Jake.” “Let’s go play on the senior jungle gym,” said Jake. We went and played on it. We felt the sun getting hotter and hotter. The sun started to melt the senior jungle gym. Josh’s hand slipped and he got winded and when he hit the ground the jungle gym melted into a puddle. The next thing a duty teacher is shaking him and when he looked up he realised he had been unconscious. By Charlie

In the beautiful, sunny weekend Spiderman Keanu and Chayanne went to play on the mega senior playground at Nayland Primary School. “Keanu, let’s go climb the huge climbing wall,” said Chayanne. Keanu and Chayanne were climbing up the wall to get to the top. Keanu and Chayanne looked to see if they could swing to the monkey bars. Yes they could so they went to the monkey bars. Keanu went first because he wanted to show how fast he was. Keanu went across like a speeding rocket. Keanu raced to the chain bridge and started to run across the chain and he slipped off. He crashed to the ground like a bird and wasn’t moving. Next I heard a loud scream. I ran to Keanu who was lying on the bark holding his leg. My heart was beating fast because I could see how much pain Keanu was in. Keanu’s bone was sticking out. It was gross. I felt like throwing up. By Chayanne

At lunchtime Stella, Bailee and Jacinta were playing on the mighty, challenging playground. “Let’s go play on the mighty, challenging flying fox,” said Bailee. So Stella, Bailee and I went on the flying fox. We swung on the flying fox and we took turns. Then we went on the monkey bars and played on them. We had fun. We were trying to miss a bar on the monkey bars. Then we went on the slide pole. We swayed and slid on them. We heard what sounded like a truck going by but we didn’t see it. Then all of a sudden we felt a humongous earthquake. There was a lot of screaming and crashing. The girls cried as the poles were tilting. The alarms were blaring. Then the wall brock on them and the rumbling stopped. They yelled as all they could see was dust in the sky even though the earthquake had stopped. “Our legs are broken,” screamed the girls By Jacinta

Charlotte, Stella and I were going to have an adventure on the awesome senior playground. “Let’s go play on the climbing wall,” said Charlotte. Charlotte, Stella and I were climbing the climbing wall, we were racing and I came first. Even though we were tired, we kept on playing on the climbing wall. We had to go sideways like spiders and whoever stayed sideways like a spider won. Stella won this time. After we started playing spider tag. It’s when you crawl on the spider web. We had races going up then down, Charlotte was really fast like Flash. Charlotte, Stella and I started playing on the flying fox. A tornado hit us on the flying fox. There was a huge gust of wind. Our legs were flying in the air. There was tumbling bark ‘everywhere’ in the air. Doors were slamming, people were crying and I could hear lots of screaming. I was winded, Charlotte broke her leg, she had blood on her like red roses, Stella finally got down but she couldn’t go anywhere because the wind was so strong! What a Stella yelled, “Help.” Finally a teacher from Room 1 By Shuun

One beautiful day at school Lili, Haylie and I were jumping on the adventure playground. “Let’s go and play on the monkey bars,” said Lili. As Lili and I are both good at getting up on the pink monkey bars Lili always wins but this time we both won. Then Haylie and I went to the pole and we went down one by one. We all had fun. Haylie set a challenge to see who could climb the pole but neither won. Then we tried again. I won, Haylie was close but she just fell down. “I’ll bet you next,” said Haylie. She just bet me. We have both won. Then Kaiya set a challenge who could get up the spider web the fastest. It was out of Haylie and I. I pretended to fall off but I actually didn’t. I climbed down and lay down on the bark. I was fake crying. We felt rumbling. It got harder and harder. It was so hard to stand up, we falkl down. Suddenly we knew it was an earthquake. We ducked down into our turtle. We heard the alarms. Then they stopped. By Zoe

One hot lunchtime Haylie, Shuun and I were playing on the senior playground. “Let’s go on the fantastic senior playground,” said Shuun. We were racing up and down the brown climbing wall. Haylie was the fastest when we were going up and down. It was fantastic. Then we went to the wobbly wobbly spider web. We were doing lots of going side to side and then Shunn won. “Damn it,” said Haylie. “Darn it,” I said. After we went to the flying fox and a gust of wind hit us. “Aaaaaa, “ we all said. The gust of wind was breaking all the glass on the windows. Rubbish was flying like crazy. Lots of alarms were going off. Then we all heard a rumbling. It’s a disaster. By Lili-Rose

One day at school I was playing on the mega big senior playground with Owen and Jayden. Jayden suggested if we could ask a teacher if we could use a ball for ball tag. We went to the tower and next the web and we started playing ball tag. Owen was the tagger first because we did coconut crack. We went down the pole to see who won with the least seconds. Then we started playing ball tag again. I was in this time. I tried to tag Jayden but he was too fast. Lunch time was nearly over when a few minutes later an earthquake happened. The start sounded like a big truck rumbling by. We heard the rumbling then things started to shake and wobble about.. We nearly crossed the climbing wall but it was too late, the climbing wall fell on our bodies. Owen had his phone in his pocket but his hands were stuck so he was screaming. I managed to get Owen’s phone but it was broken from the object that had fallen on us. Jayden screamed for help. Finally we saw the face of the principal looking down at us and we knew we were going to be okay. By Connor
